Osceola Cries benefited from a reading as part of a night of one-act plays on March 25, 2004 at the Visual and Performing Arts Center in Bennington, Vermont. It was directed by Ryan C. Tittle under the auspices of Gladden Schrock. The cast was as follows:

Cullen is dying of cancer. His friend Gutrie visits him and his son Jake at a breakfast cafe. Former residents of Walstone, they have now left to live in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. Cullen's imminent death becomes prescient as Cullen and Gutrie eulogize the old South.
